This is the ninth edition of the largest marketing event in Poland. This year we first had to cancel the March edition, because it clashed with the very beginning of the lockdown associated with the COVID pandemic. So we planned an autumn edition in its place, although with lessened participation (only 25% of the seats in the cinema hall were supposed to be occupied) and with additional restrictions (such as disinfecting of seats during each of the breaks), but otherwise with the trademark features of the event that’s now a hashtag phenomenon: #ilovemkt.
On Thursday, October 15, the government announced that Warsaw (and several other cities) will be marked as a red zone. From that moment on, we knew that ticket holders would only see us in their offices and homes – in the form of screen presence.
We were in for an unexpected surprise when on Sunday, October 18, 2 days before the start of the conference, the government banned online events in the red zone. In less than 48 hours we had to move all the equipment and all involved contractors to Multikino in Pruszków, which was in the yellow zone. However, our efforts paid off and nearly 100 speakers presented to our audience who joined us online for the event.
