This is the ninth edition of the biggest marketing event in Poland. This year, we first had to cancel the March edition, because it coincided with the Covid-19 pandemic.
And so, we planned for the autumn edition. Although with limited publicity – with only 25% of the seats in the cinema hall occupied - and with additional restrictions, such seat disinfections in the cinema venue during each of the breaks, the spectacle nevertheless preserved the same distinguishing features of the famed #ilovemkt event. On Thursday, 15th of October, the government announced that Warsaw was among a dozen other cities to be designated as ‘red zones.’ From that moment on, we knew that ticket holders would only see us in their offices and homes – through broadcasts.
Our surprise was significant when on Sunday, 18th of October, two days before the start of the conference, it turned out that the government had mistakenly banned online events within said red zones. In less than 48 hours, we proceeded to carry out all equipment and contractors involved to a Multikino cinema venue in Pruszków, located in a so-called ‘yellow zone,’ with relaxed restrictions. Our speedy efforts paid off and nearly 100 speakers presented themselves to a keen online audience.
